Christmas is a Cristian holiday because it celebrates the birth of Jesus . During Christmas there are gifts, Christmas trees, Christmas tree decorations, we eat meals with our family and of course we wait for Santa Claus. Santa Claus’s true name is Nicholas and he is very generous and he gives a lot of gifts. We use the Christmas tree as a symbol because the Romans decorated their houses with evergreen trees. It was an ancient symbol of life in winter. We also open Christmas crackers; they were invented by a London sweet maker called Tom Smith between 1845 and 1850. Inside the crackers there are some sweets, a joke and a crown made of coloured paper. The outside part is made using empty toilet rolls and tissue paper.
