About Us

In an increasingly globalized, technological, captivating and interconnected world, traditional educational systems no longer meet the needs of families. It is in this context that Up School was born in September 2015, the first international school in Cagliari, designed in Italy and inspired by the world.

Up School is a contemporary school, an alternative to the traditional school model, which promotes the creation of stimulating learning environments through interdisciplinary dialogue between architecture, pedagogy and computer science, designed to offer opportunities for individuality to express, enrich and develop.

Up School also embodies innovation and experience. A story that began thirty years ago with the will and entrepreneurship of its Director, Enrica Corbia, with the creation of the first kindergarten soon replicated in three other locations.

Over the years, research has not been limited solely to the study of quality pedagogical models but, thanks to the integration of Enrica’s son Alberto Melis and a structured interdisciplinary team of highly qualified young people coordinated by Prof. Silvano Tagliagambe, it has created the conditions for Up School to be the natural continuation of a consolidated experience and aimed at verticalizing the path up to primary school and beyond, developing sustainable educational models in line with the times.

Up School means growing up in spaces tailored to children, which combine the domestic sense of hospitality with the most innovative technologies and attention to well-being and respect for the environment.

The use of new technologies is strengthened in the educational programs as useful and integrated tools in daily activities. 3D printers and screens for teaching science, while projectors and interactive tables are used in front lesson environments and group work. All in a perfect bilingual Italian/English context.

The choice of spaces, in addition to playing a central role in our educational project, also has a social purpose, that of recovering and restoring a part of the territory’s architectural heritage with the noble aim of being the place where the citizens of the future grow up.

PRESS

In the first two years of UP SCHOOL‘s existence, it has attracted the attention of various media outlets as one of the most interesting realities in the field of Education, not only nationally but also internationally.

To name a few, Wired, a true institution in the world of innovation, includes UP SCHOOL among the best schools worldwide to become innovators, associating it with national institutions such as Reggio Children and H-Campus (an educational project by H-Farm) and international giants such as Alt School, a Californian project promoted by former Google employee Max Ventilla to revolutionize the global educational system that has received funding of over 130 million dollars from major Silicon Valley investment funds such as Founders Fund, owned by Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg.

Similarly, Novà, an insert of the Italian newspaper Sole 24ore, cites UP SCHOOL and its scientific director Silvano Tagliagambe in an article titled “Digital innovation in schools” for their innovative capacity and the targeted use of technology in educational pathways.

Wired also dedicates an entire article to UP SCHOOL, defining it as “the school for digital natives”.

Lastly, the monthly print magazine VANITY FAIR dedicates a full page to UP SCHOOL as an example of a good school.
