During our history lesson we talked about our city: Cagliari. Cagliari was founded as a commercial station in the eighth (8) century, when the Phoenicians started to frequent the angels gulf. For the Claudian writer Cagliari was discovered in the first millenium b.c. by the people of Tiro, a Phoenician commercial port. The first center of the ancient Cagliari was near santa Gilla’s lake. In the punic period the city grew and they started building temples. One of the most important temple was for the Astarte god. The city had two necropoli: one of that is called TUVIXEDDU necropolis and the other one is the Bonaria necropolis.
